What exactly is digital advertising?

When we say ‘digital advertising’ we mean running paid-for advertisements on online platforms such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter and TikTok. If you have used any of these platforms you will almost certainly have seen ‘ads’ before, but in some cases you might not have noticed them.

Google Ads, for example, are shown at the top of the search results page when you google something. They look like a regular search engine result, but they have the word ‘sponsored’ next to them.

Ads on LinkedIn and Facebook usually appear in your news feed as you scroll through. Again, they look like a regular post that one of your friends or that a company you follow might have posted, but they have the word ‘sponsored’ under the company name.

Believe it or not, these ads are incredibly powerful and are used by thousands of companies (big and small) the world over to promote their products and services. Some people ignore them, there’s no denying it, but due to the incredible targeting capabilities of these platforms they are still a valuable part of the marketing toolkit for most brands that are serious about moving the needle with their marketing.

You might hear Google Ads being referred to as Paid Search, SEM or PPC. You might hear ads on LinkedIn and Facebook being referred to Paid Social Media or just Paid Social. It’s all the same thing though, and the most important part is knowing that with digital advertising you get to choose who sees your ads. Just relying on your own social media and organic search listings won’t provide you with the reach you need and the accuracy of targeting that digital advertising will.

Do you offer any other services besides digital advertising?

Yes! Whilst digital advertising has become the mainstay of the agency we have added on additional services to complement it.

Starting in January 2023 we now offer digital marketing consultancy. With this service we can advise you on any aspect of your digital marketing and help you understand which activities to prioritise and how to go about managing them. The service is tailored to each individual client’s needs, but typically involves developing a measurement framework (so you know what success looks like and can measure it), creating a strategic marketing plan, helping with the allocation of resources (team, budgets and agencies), and coordinating the execution of marketing campaigns. Some like to think of it as having a part-time marketing director of Chief Marketing Officer.

We also offer standalone services which enable you to get a quick injection of expertise. This includes a Digital Marketing Maturity Assessment, Google Ads Audit, Strategy Workshop and others, all of which are priced up individually and delivered for a one-off fee.

How many leads will I get from my digital advertising campaign(s)?

That depends. It depends on your budget, it depends on the audience you are trying to reach, it depends on the quality of your content, it depends on the strength of your brand, and it depends on whether your product/service is in demand. It also depends on what you consider a ‘lead’ and how well your systems are set up to record them.

We have had small clients who receive 5 leads a week, and much larger clients who receive 120 per week. What is as important as lead volume is lead quality. It is much better to receive a smaller volume of higher-quality leads than to flood your sales team with low quality leads. It is also important to look at other metrics such as reach, frequency and website traffic to determine the overall impact of your digital ads spend.

What we can guarantee is that we will put best-in-class marketing campaigns in place for you that meet or exceed industry benchmark click-through rates and that follow industry best practices. We have been doing this for many years and pride ourselves on the expertise and ability to execute that we have developed in that time.

Do you provide any kind of reports so I know that my marketing is working?

Yes. Every digital advertising package we sell includes the provision of a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (depending on your package) report that we prepare for you. This provides details on campaign performance including spend, click-through rate and conversions, and is the cornerstone of our check-in meetings. Using this report we are able to discuss campaign performance with you and identify areas for improvement, or call out things that are working particularly well.

Will I get the chance to speak to somebody about my campaigns’ performance?

Yes. Depending on your package we will meet either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly via Zoom or another virtual meeting platform of your choice. During these calls we will share the latest performance of your campaigns in the report that we prepare, discuss with you what the next actions for the week are, and gather any information from you about upcoming campaigns that you might be planning. It is also a great chance for you to ask us about anything digital marketing related.

How does the consultancy side of things work?

With our consultancy offering you get access to a highly experience digital marketer with over 20 years of experience in the industry (hint, it’s likely to be this guy). We are here to solve your digital marketing problems whatever they might be, however we have developed our own framework that we will guide you through to make sure you have the right ingredients in place. This includes making sure you have a robust marketing strategy, have the right mix of agencies, freelancers and team in place, can reliably measure and report on your results, and have enough knowledge to be able to do the marketing well.

Some people call us their part-time Marketing Director, or even their Fractional CMO. However you like to view it, we will dedicate a senior consultant to you for an agreed number of days per month to act as your head of marketing and put your marketing on the right path to success.

How much do your services cost?

We offer three levels of service for paid advertising management, and three levels of service for marketing consultancy. Prices range from £1,785/month to £4,775/month for either. We also offer small business packages ranging from £850/month to £2,675/month for those with a smaller budget.

In addition to monthly packages we also offer one-off services including a Digital Marketing Maturity Assessment, Google Ads Audit, Strategy Workshops and others, and are available for occasional day rate consulting work and team workshops.

The best thing to do is give us a call so we can discuss your exact requirements and provide you with accurate pricing.

Will I be locked into a long contract?
No. We ask for an initial commitment of 3 months, and after that you move onto a one-month rolling contract.
Where are you based?
We are a limited company registered in the United Kingdom.
Do you work internationally?

Yes. We have had clients with registered offices in the United Kingdom, United States, France, and Ukraine so far and are open to other opportunities. We have worked with teams based in the United Kingdom, United States, France, Germany, Netherlands, Ukraine, South Africa and Thailand to date.

We have experience running digital advertising campaigns in many countries including the United Kingdom, United States, Nordics, France and Africa. As client side marketers (prior to Seeking Perfection) we ran multinational campaigns covering the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.

Are you a one-man-band, a consultancy or an agency?

We’re a little bit of all of them. Our core services are based on the work of our founder, Simon Plews. Simon has managed all client campaigns to date, has been the primary point of contact for client engagement, and has delivered all consultancy work. Having said that, this is a growing business and increasingly support is needed to manage the daily operations of the business and scale the service delivery. We therefore use the services of virtual assistants, mid-level digital marketing contractors, and agency partners to help lighten the load and ensure we can deliver the best possible experience to our clients.

No matter our size, we are confident that the processes we have developed to deliver digital advertising campaigns, our unique focus on regular reporting and client meetings, and our obsessive attention to detail stand us apart.

How do I know you’re the real deal?

Clients we have helped so far include Ometria, Uniform, Rockwell Automation, Clario, NetData, N Family Club, Really Awesome Coffee and more. Prior to that our founder worked for 15 years in the tech sector for companies including Adobe, McAfee, Oracle and Tektronix. All in marketing roles.

We have a number of standalone services that you can try for a low cost as a way of testing us out, but the best way to answer this question is to arrange a call and see for yourself.
